One-Signature Pay
An agent pays for a call with exactly one signature over one transfer. No approvals, no allowances left behind, no accounts created, and no SOL needed in the agent’s wallet.
What gets signed
For the exact scheme the client builds a small versioned transaction with four instructions, in this order:
| # | Instruction | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Compute Budget · SetComputeUnitLimit | Caps the transaction at 20,000 compute units |
| 1 | Compute Budget · SetComputeUnitPrice | Priority fee of 1 micro-lamport per unit |
| 2 | SPL Token · TransferChecked | Moves exactly the amount from the agent's token account to payTo's, checking mint and decimals |
| 3 | Memo | 16 random bytes as hex (or the seller's extra.memo), so no two payments are byte-identical |
The transaction’s fee payer is the facilitator address from the offer’s extra.feePayer. The agent signs only as the owner of the source token account; the facilitator adds its own signature at settlement. Token-2022 mints work the same way through the Token-2022 program.
Why one signature is enough
- Everything is pinned. TransferChecked binds the mint, amount, decimals, source and destination. Changing any of them breaks the agent’s signature.
- Checked before work starts. The facilitator verifies the layout, the mint, the recipient and the exact amount, then simulates the transaction, all before the seller runs its handler.
- No replay. A Solana signature can land only once, the blockhash inside expires in about a minute, and the memo nonce keeps two identical purchases distinct.
- Nothing left standing. Approve-then-pull designs leave a spending permission behind. Here nothing persists after the transfer.
What it costs
| Item | Who pays | Typical |
|---|---|---|
| Price of the call | Agent, in USDC | Whatever the seller set |
| Network fee (2 signatures × 5,000 lamports) | Facilitator | 0.00001 SOL |
| Priority fee (20,000 CU × 1 micro-lamport) | Facilitator | Under one lamport |
| Facilitator fee | Depends on the facilitator | None on Axonpay's facilitator |
On Axonpay’s facilitator the fee payer covers the network and priority fees and charges sellers nothing. It accepts a priority fee of at most 25,000 micro-lamports per compute unit, so even a wallet that raises it can’t make one settle expensive.
Timing
A slot lasts about 400 ms. Facilitators generally wait for confirmed commitment, which usually arrives within one to two seconds, so a paid call costs roughly one extra round trip plus confirmation. finalized (about 13 seconds) is rarely worth the wait for a sub-dollar call.
