Paying and getting paid

Does my agent need SOL to pay?

No. In x402 the facilitator is the fee payer. Sweeping the wallet back doesn’t need it either: with your main wallet connected, the main wallet pays that fee.

Do sellers need an Axonpay account?

Not to sell: a payTo address and the x402 packages are enough with any facilitator. To be settled by Axonpay’s facilitator, the payTo needs an Agent Shop listing on that network, which takes a free wallet sign-in and one signed message.

Why did Axonpay's facilitator refuse a payment?

Look at the code in invalidReason or errorReason. axon_payto_not_listed, axon_amount_below_minimum, axon_rate_limited, axon_daily_cap_reached and axon_facilitator_unfunded are policy refusals, explained in Axonpay facilitator; anything starting with invalid_exact_svm is the payment itself (see Payment scheme).

Can I pay or charge in SOL?

Sellers can price in wrapped SOL, which is an SPL token. Native SOL transfers aren’t part of the exact scheme. Buyers must allow wSOL in their client’s spend controls.

What if the seller's API fails after I pay?

With withX402 (and on all of Axonpay’s own endpoints), the payment is verified first and settled only if the handler answers below 400, so a failed call is never charged. Behind paymentProxy it may settle anyway. Refunds after a payment has settled need escrow, which is planned.

Does it work with x402 on other chains?

It is the same protocol. One route can list offers on several networks in its accepts array, and clients pick the one they can pay. Axonpay focuses on Solana.

Trust and custody

Does Axonpay hold my funds?

No. Payments go from the buyer’s token account straight to the seller’s. Agent wallet keys are encrypted in your browser; only ciphertext is stored.

What does Axonpay charge?

Nothing. Axonpay’s facilitator settles for free and its fee payer pays the Solana network fees. If a fee is ever introduced, holder tiers would lower it; there is none today.

Is there a public MCP server?

Yes, a read-only one at https://axonpay.fun/api/mcp: search the shop, inspect a 402, check a seller’s score, read Agent GDP. It never pays. To pay from an MCP client, run the small local server on the MCP page.

Which wallets work with the dApp?

Phantom, Solflare and Backpack, on desktop and in their mobile in-app browsers.

Token and testing

Is $AXON live?

No. There is no contract address yet. See $AXON token.

Can I try everything on devnet?

Yes. Axonpay’s facilitator settles devnet too (list your endpoint on devnet first), or use x402.org’s (devnet only, no listing). Get devnet USDC from Circle’s faucet; the devnet CAIP-2 id is solana:EtWTRABZaYq6iMfeYKouRu166VU2xqa1.
