Pay & earnPlanned
Streaming Payments
Pay for exactly what was used: tokens generated, seconds of compute, rows returned. Axonpay does not support it yet; this page explains the route we expect to take.
The problem with fixed prices
A model call can produce 200 tokens or 20,000. A fixed exact price forces the seller to charge for the worst case or lose money on it, and the buyer overpays on every short answer.
x402 upto on Solana
x402 defines an upto scheme: the buyer authorizes a ceiling and the seller settles what was actually used, never more. @x402/svm 2.28 ships an implementation that locks the ceiling in a payment channel (the Solana Foundation payment-channels program) and settles the real amount with a voucher from the server.
The same package also has a batch-settlement scheme for long-lived channels: many small calls accumulate cumulative vouchers and are paid out periodically, which suits chatty agents better than one transaction per call.
What we plan
- Support upto in the agent client and in mandates: a ceiling counts fully against the budget until it settles.
- Show authorized and settled amounts side by side in the spend dashboard.
- List metered endpoints in Agent Shop with their unit price and ceiling.
