The part after solana: is the first 32 characters of the cluster’s genesis hash. x402 clients may register solana:* to match every cluster. Public RPC endpoints are rate-limited; use a private one in production.

Token accounts
Tokens live in token accounts, not directly in wallets. The associated token account (ATA) is the one derived from the owner, the token program and the mint. x402 payments move tokens from ATA to ATA and never create accounts, so the payTo’s ATA for the mint must already exist. Creating one costs the rent above, paid once by whoever creates it.
